On a cold and rainy day...
I never thought I'd be standing in front of a voting center giving out 'How To Vote' papers to my fellow villagers.
But there I was, chatting with other volunteers, huddled under our umbrellas, shivering in the wind.
I felt so grateful for this experience.
There was no nastiness between us, despite our differences. Wow!
I felt a deep confirmation that every person has something special to offer the world,
and each one of us has a unique story to tell.
We all carry our own hurts, burdens and brokenness, but we also have a deep well of wisdom and experience that can make a difference.
Many of my friends have suggested that I write a book about my own experiences, and I'm seriously considering it.
And I want to read your stories as well.
We are all survivors of difficult things, can learn so much from each other, and we all have a voice that deserves to be heard.
Despite the fact that the party I was supporting didn't win an upper house seat in the recent election, I was deeply moved by the support and goodwill I received from those who voted for me as a candidate.
Even though my vote count might seem insignificant on the surface, to me it was a huge achievement and a reason to celebrate.
I believe that the most important achievement in life is simply showing up.
Of course, this is easier said than done. It requires a level of healing and clearing that can only come from allowing ourselves to feel deeply and cultivate a sense of safety and trust.
I know that I am privileged to be able to share my thoughts and experiences with others, and I hope to use that privilege to inspire positive change in the world.
If you're reading this, I believe that you have the power to do the same.
So don't let fear hold you back from sharing your message with the world.
Do whatever it takes to find inner healing and building up your confidence.
Your unique perspective and experiences are valuable, and they have the potential to make a real difference in the lives of others.
Remember, you were born for such a time as this. There are people who long to hear your stories and your message to inspire them on their journey.
